Hello to our Kansas Native Seed Team - we have a seed dispersal event coming up at the Lawrence Nature Park!
The Lawrence Nature Park is owned by the City of Lawrence and protected by a KLT easement. Together, let’s ensure the ongoing biodiversity of this gorgeous public woodland.
We will be seeding river oats, wild ryes, paw paw, persimmon, Kentucky coffee tree, and a few other species. You may also stick around to help us remove garlic mustard and/or winter crepeer.
Kids are more than welcome! Please bring your own kids work gloves. We have plenty of adult-sized work gloves to borrow.
Please be sure to sign up, as the parking lot is very small and spots are limited. We recommend that you carpool from the Lawrence Free State High School parking lot.
There are no bathrooms or drinking fountains on-site. Be sure to bring water and a snack if you wish. Dress in long pants, long sleeves, and closed-toed shoes to protect from ticks and poison ivy.
Thank you for helping protect and restore our Kansas ecosystems! We'll see you outside!
